Queen’s University Belfast is hosting two special events in October to celebrate World Sight Day 2023.
World Sight Day (Oct 12th) and Pan-Ireland Ophthalmology Day (Oct 13th) run annually and focus attention on the global issue of avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

World Sight Day is the most important advocacy and communications event in the annual eye health calendar. It is a great time to engage with the world at large and highlight the importance of eye-health globally. Queens University Belfast has organised a special programme to mark this important annual milestone.
On Thursday 12th October 2023, an international line-up of speakers will share their insights, thoughts and expertise to celebrate this key event.
Pan-Ireland Ophthalmic Conference (POD) 2023, Belfast - Friday 13th October
Queens University Belfast is delighted to host a special event, the Pan-Ireland Ophthalmology Day.
On Friday 13th October 2023, we are honoured to have Professor Stephen Kaye – Vice President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Mr John Doris - President Elect, Irish College of Ophthalmologists speak at this special event. The day will feature guest speakers from around the world.
