Head to Toe Management – Diabetes Patient Education Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of Diabetes Ireland which will be held in the Regency Hotel, Swords Road, Drumcondra, Dublin on Sunday 16 November at 12 noon.
This year, Diabetes Ireland will host a separate patient education event entitled ‘Head-to-Toe Management’, a series of talks for people with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and for children and their parents. Each stream will have 3 presentations which will focus on the issues of interest to Diabetic Patients and their families
The overall purpose is to inform people with diabetes on how to cope with feelings at and from diagnosis onwards, how best to manage their condition from day to day and allay their concerns on the future development of complications through action.
There is a wide range of speakers on the day ranging from Consultant Ophthalmologists, Endocrinologists, Psychologists, Diabetes Nurse Specialists, Podiatrists and people with diabetes.
Eye Surgeons, Mr David Keegan, Mater Hospital and Mr Mark Cahill, Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, will talk about diabetes and it’s effect on eye health for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics.
