The Retina Conference is an annual Fighting Blindness event which brings together leading international and Irish figures in the global effort to find treatments and cures for conditions causing sight loss.  There are a number of meetings and sessions planned around the conference, The main events are the scientific meeting on Friday, November 11 and a public engagement day on Saturday, November 12.

The meeting is designed for scientists, clinicians, regulators, policy-,makers and industry. The conference brings together Irish and international colleagues working to find treatments and cures for blindness.  Click here to register for the Scientific Programme.

A ‘Breakfast with the Prof’ session for junior doctors, junior researchers and postdocs, will take place on Friday 11th November from 8am – 9pm. There are four topics, with space for eight people at each table;

·       Prof Robin Ali: Getting Published: tips on writing papers

·       Dr Joseph Carroll: Networking in Science

·       Dr Bart Leroy: Connecting Clinical Practice with Research as a Clinician-Scientist

·       Dr Elfride De Baere: Funding Opportunities for Young Scientists

The retina 2016 Public Engagement Day will take place on Saturday, November 12. This event offers a unique opportunity for people affected by sight loss, family members and the general public to engage with leading clinicians and researchers and provides a platform for Irish patients to learn about their condition and the research that is aiming to find therapies to treat it.
